Axess signs major contract with Odfjell Drilling
Engineering company Axess in Molde has signed a 3-year contract with Odfjell Drilling for the execution of control and inspection services onboard 4 mobile drilling rigs operated by Odfjell Drilling and control and inspection services related to Odfjell Drilling’s operations on 10 fixed oil installations in the North Sea. The contract is valid until 2011.
Odfjell Drilling is a leading international supplier of drilling and well services and an engineering company with 35 years of experience in design, ownership and operational management of drilling vessels and fixed drilling installations. The company also supplies comprehensive engineering services to the petroleum industry in Norway and abroad, and enjoys a major market position within the field of well services.
Frode Monsen, Procurement Director at Odfjell Drilling, explains that the company’s contract assessment highlighted Axess’ commercial conditions, HSE management and high expertise within the fields of inspection, enterprise of competence and engineering. The annual turnover from the contract may reach 70 million Norwegian kroner.

The contract represents recognition of the technology and cost-effective systems developed by Axess. This contract will allow Axess to further strengthen our position as a leading supplier of engineering services for drilling contractors.
A 3-year contract with Odfjell Drilling will allow Axess to further develop its rig and platform services, particularly with regards integrated operations. Axess has 43 engineers employed at the Molde office and is also connected to 75 operators via its company Axess Orkla Inspection AS, with workshops and offices in Kristiansund and Orkanger.
