BW Offshore Contract

The offshore service company AXESS will conduct RBI analysis (Risk based inspection). prepare inspection programs and carry out inspection activities on two of BW Offshore's Floating Production and Storage Operations (FPSO). The vessels are located in Mexico and Brazil.

- To conduct RBI of the process plant onboard these vessels requires a high level of competence, and we see this assignment as an important acceptance of our skills. The vessel Yùum K’ak’Náab off the coast of Mexico is one of the largest FPSOs in the world. On this vessel we will prepare an inspection program and carry out inspection of pipes and static mechanical equipment on board, says Torkel Fyrvik, Director of AXESS department in Trondheim.

Safety
Good inspection programs are important, both with respect to safety and cost efficiency.

- The inspection work reveals, among other things, when different component needs to be renewed. Cost efficiency is gained by ensuring these are renewed at the optimal point, but still maintaining safety levels by not renewing too late, explains Fyrvik

Rio
BW Cidade de Sao Vicente, the other FPSO, is located off Brazil. AXESS newly opened an office in Rio, and the assignments are carried out in cooperation between Axess do Brazil and AXESS in Trondheim.

- We have competent employees which can be sent from Trondheim and our other offices in Norway. We also have competent personnel in South America. A combination which ensures that we can deliver projects in this part of the world in a good and efficient way. Our objective is to deliver the same high level competence inspection and maintenance services all over the world, tells Fyrvik.

Growth in Trondheim
AXESS opened their Trondheim office autumn 2009. The company delivers inspection and engineering services as well as being an enterprise of competence. AXESS is located in Molde, Kristiansund, Orkanger, Trondheim and Rio. The Trondheim has grown from one employee in August 2009 till seven employees as per today, and more people will be hired by the end of 2010.

The contract between BW Offshore and AXESS is for two years.
