A sound maintenance strategy for a system or component should be decided based on risk assessment, normally by means of an RCM analysis. Such an analysis is not worth much unless it is based on knowledge of the actual operation and environment to which the system is exposed. Our staff has this knowledge and is capable of communicating with the client’s staff in a way that ensures their knowledge is also included in the analysis.
A wise strategy in itself is not sufficient to ensure optimal maintenance. The maintenance (or inspection) tasks have to be communicated to the operator by means of unambiguous procedures. Our method of documenting such procedures has proved very clear and understandable to operators. The procedures also contain clear instructions on how to report findings and results, which then function as a basis for capturing data and information that enables further analysis in order to improve and update maintenance plans.
